Collaboration at great heights.

Balco is a leading player in the balcony industry, offering innovative and energy-saving high-quality balcony solutions. The company acts as the general contractor in the project when Brf Kolarhagen in Västerås undergoes balcony and facade renovation.

Brf Kolarhagen comprises 13 buildings constructed in the 1960s. Now, 628 balconies are being replaced and enclosed with glass. All facades are being renovated and additional insulation is being added. The work started in the spring of 2022, and everything is expected to be completed by the spring of 2024.

Kranpunkten and Balco have collaborated on several projects over the years, and now they have jointly taken on Kolarhagen. For Kranpunkten, the assignment mainly involves assembling and providing the scaffolding needed to carry out the renovations. Eleven 33-meter-high scaffolding structures are in place. In addition to this, a construction elevator and a boom lift are included in the project.

- Personal relationships and good experiences in problem-solving together weigh heavily when we choose a supplier. But of course, the safety aspect is extremely important when a lot of work is done at a great height. With Kranpunkten in the project, we get all the parts, says Johan Bengtsson, project manager at Balco.
