Together, we contribute to cancer research.

Kranpunkten has supported a number of public welfare initiatives over the years, several on a long-term basis. Among these is the Stefan Paulsson Cancer Fundation, established in 2008. The foundation's mission is to promote care and support for cancer patients and to contribute to scientific research and education in the field of cancer diseases. In connection with this, Kranpunkten, Tommy Nordberghs Åkeri, Kvidinge Plåtslageri, and Kille Entreprenad organized the annual motorcycle convoy in support of the Stefan Paulsson Cancer Fundation on August 17, 2024.

The day offered sunshine and 20 degrees Celsius as 200 people participated in this year’s motorcycle convoy in support of the Stefan Paulsson Cancer Fundation. The convoy has been held annually since 2018, and this year’s event began at Kvidinge Plåtslageri, where participants were treated to coffee and sandwiches in the morning. A total of 207,565 SEK was raised, which went directly to the foundation. This is the highest amount collected to date.

- This was the 7th year we’ve run this event, and everything went according to plan. We were fortunate with the weather, and I got the impression that everyone was happy and satisfied. As one of the organizers said at registration, ‘Everyone signing up is so cheerful and positive and thinks this is an absolutely fantastic initiative.’ We also receive a lot of positive comments on social media about how well-organized the event is, which is, of course, very rewarding. Now we’re starting the planning for next year and hoping for a similarly great day in 2025, said Thomas Eriksson, Regional Manager for Kranpunkten Nord.

This year’s route passed through Kvidinge - Eket - Hylstofta - Perstorp - Röstånga - Ljungbyhed - Norra Vram - Åstorp - Höja - Munka Ljungby - Gånarp and concluded at Valhall Park Hotel, where participants enjoyed lunch provided by Restaurang Nimt and Bjärefågel.

- The idea for the convoy came about in 2017 when my daughter Lina and I participated in another convoy to raise money for prostate cancer research. When we finished that event, I told Lina we should do something similar but raise funds for Stefan’s foundation instead. I asked Peter from Kvidinge Plåt, Lars-Göran from Killebäckstorps Entreprenad, and Stefan from Tommy Nordberghs Åkeri if they wanted to join and be part of the initiative. Naturally, they all said yes. We kicked off the first event in 2018. Our goal that year was 30-40 motorcycles, but we ended up with 87 participants. This year, we had about 200 participants, which is absolutely fantastic, Thomas concluded.
