Our social responsibility

Safety and well-being are most important

We are proud of our committed and competent employees who make our success journey possible. Our culture, created by us together, is permeated by our core values Competence, Efficiency, Personal and Safety and together we deliver services and machines to customers around the country every day.

Well-being

We want our employees to thrive and feel well at work, and we work hard to achieve this, often going far beyond what is required by law.

  • Our staff turnover has consistently remained below 10% over the years.
  • Secure employment conditions are a natural part of this effort.
  • with 97% of our employees holding permanent positions.

Good health

Well-being is a prerequisite for performing well at work. In recent employee surveys, we have noticed a decline in our employees' physical health, which has led us to set various goals to reverse this trend. Measuring the benefits and outcomes of such goals can be challenging, but we have observed an increase in the use of wellness allowances in recent years. However, it is not just about physical health; mental well-being must also be in balance.

We are aware that mental health issues are on the rise in society, and it is important for us to allocate resources when we notice someone struggling. As a preventive measure, we are now training all managers and safety representatives in organizational and social work environments.

Sick leave

Historically, our sick leave rate has been between 2-3%, which is relatively low. However, as the company has grown, sick leave has also increased. We have chosen to report all sick leave without excluding long-term absences. Naturally, the recent years' pandemic has had an impact on sick leave rates.

Safe workplaces are essential

Through our internal system for incident and accident reporting, we identify both new and existing situations that could pose risks in the workplace. Our employees understand the importance of always reporting all types of incidents, regardless of their size. This creates a foundation that enables us to implement preventive measures and improvements where needed.

Our safety representatives play a vital and natural role in our safety work. They act as a link between employees and the company, and we encourage active dialogue both among the safety representatives and with managers.

Zero tolerance to alcohol and drugs

We have a clear alcohol and drug policy, and our managers are trained to identify and address these issues. Unfortunately, the use of drugs is increasing in society at large, which is reflected in the workplace. Our policy requires that all new employees undergo a drug test before being hired. Additionally, we conduct random drug tests throughout the year, and all our vehicles, including the truck-mounted lifts in our equipment fleet, are equipped with alcohol ignition interlocks. These initiatives have been positively received by both employees and customers.

Professional development at work

Being a truly sustainable employer also means providing opportunities for career development for our employees. Every employee has their own training plan, and we actively work to identify and support those who want to grow in their roles.

One significant challenge in our industry is the future availability of skilled professionals. Fewer young people are pursuing careers in the industrial sector, which is likely to create problems in the future. To address this, we have been involved in an apprenticeship program for high school students for several years. Some of our current employees started as apprentices with us, and it’s gratifying to see them choosing to stay in the industry and with our company. They also serve as important role models for our new apprentices.

The future workforce lies in our children and young people, and we believe that meaningful leisure activities play a role in shaping the decisions they make later in life. That’s why we are proud sponsors of various sports clubs focusing on youth sports. We believe this is where our sponsorship can have the greatest impact.

A workplace for everyone

For us, gender equality is a given, and together with our managers and employees, we work to create equal and inclusive workplaces. The industry has traditionally been male-dominated, but we are committed to attracting more women to join our sector.

The proportion of women in our workforce has increased in recent years, but we know there is still room for improvement.

  • Currently, 13% of our employees are women.
  • In Kranpunkten's management team, 33% (2 members) are women.

We have zero tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment. Through a vigilant organization and regular employee surveys, we can identify if such issues arise at our locations and act promptly to address them.

We are good at training - both internally within the company and externally

Our work can sometimes involve risks, and our goal is to eliminate them. By educating both our own employees and our customers in safety practices, we contribute to increased safety at workplaces across the country. Since 2007, over 19,000 people have completed lift training with us.
